Concord, NH – NHGOP Chairman Stephen Stepanek released the following statement on Steve Marchand’s unethical campaign strategies:
“Former Portsmouth mayor and failed candidate for NH governor in 2016 and 2018, Steve Marchand is just another Democrat who chose to send illegal and anonymous political mailings and create fake websites in an attempt to dismantle his Republican rivals’ campaigns. This seems to be an ongoing pattern from Democrats; the decision to run on unethical practices and spend thousands in Republican primaries to mislead and deceive voters. Where’s the outrage from Senator Hassan, State Senator Sherman, Rep. Pappas, and Rep. Annie Kuster? Let’s make one thing clear—Democrats have nothing to run on because they have created the inflation disaster we’re currently in and because of that they are resorting to masquerading as Republicans in an attempt to hoodwink the public. This is just unacceptable. I applaud the Attorney General’s office for looking into this issue.”
