NHGOP Condemns Rep. Maggie Goodlander for Encouraging Treason

Concord, NH — Today, the New Hampshire Republican Party condemned Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander for appearing in a video with other Democrat members of Congress encouraging U.S. service members to commit treason and defy lawful orders from the Secretary of War and Commander in Chief.

“Maggie Goodlander’s behavior is reckless and beneath the office she holds,” said NHGOP Chairman Jim MacEachern. “Encouraging soldiers to ignore the lawful chain of command is dangerous, irresponsible, and undermines the very foundation of military service.”

MacEachern continued, “This is what happens when partisan activists get elected. When Democrats are in power, they demand absolute obedience. When they’re out of power, they’re only interested in chaos. Encouraging insubordination in the United States military because your party lost an election is embarrassing immature at a national level.”

The NHGOP called on Goodlander to immediately retract her remarks and apologize to New Hampshire’s service members, veterans, and military families.

“Maggie has set a dangerous precedent,” MacEachern said. “She should know better, and Granite Staters deserve better.”
