Democrat Proposes 20,000% Pay Increase in Concord

October 30, 2025

Concord, NH — Today, the New Hampshire Republican Party called out the Democrat’s top gubernatorial recruit, Jon Kiper, for pushing a nearly 20,000% pay raise for politicians.

Last year, Kiper proposed a $20,000.00 annual salary for state legislators. Now, he’s suing the state to force these pay raises through.

“As Democrats in Concord propose higher taxes, Kiper wants to give politicians a 20,000% raise,” said NHGOP Chairman Jim MacEachern. “Kiper is saying what other Democrats won’t: they’d rather pad politicians’ pockets than hold the line on taxes and spending.”

While Granite Staters are working to make ends meet, Kiper and his fellow Democrats are focused on one thing: MASSing up New Hampshire with higher taxes and bigger paychecks for themselves.
