Concord, NH — Today, NHGOP Chairman Stephen Stepanek hit back on New Hampshire House Democrats over their support for HB 1512 – which prioritizes dangerous criminals over victims and law-abiding Granite Staters.
“Once again New Hampshire Democrats prove that they are the party of chaos in the streets. All but one Democrat on the Criminal Justice Committee voted to move forward with HB 1512, a bill that would effectively overturn the majority of life prison sentences in NH and grant automatic parole hearings to violent criminals with life sentences after only 25 years of incarceration.
“With their vote on HB 1512, Democrats are siding with individuals convicted of the most heinous crimes including 1st and 2nd degree murder. This bill undermines both the safety of N.H. communities and the wellbeing of victims of crime.
“When will New Hampshire Democrats step away from their progressive agenda in order to serve the needs of their own communities and the law-abiding citizens that reside there?
“New Hampshire Democrats have exposed just how little they care for the safety of their own constituents.”
