CONCORD – NH GOP Chair Jeanie Forrester released the following statement following Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH) politicizing the opioid crisis in the Democrat’s Weekly Address:

“It takes an especially cynical politician to politicize the nation’s opioid crisis. But Senator Maggie Hassan has plumbed the depths of decent civil discourse. She used her one-minute of national notoriety to drive a political wedge in an issue that knows no partisanship and doesn’t discriminate among its victims. Once again, Maggie Hassan has brought ill-repute to the Granite State. During her tenure as Governor of New Hampshire, the state’s opioid crisis spiraled out-of-control and she did precious little to stop it. It bears noting that now that she has left Concord, we have finally begun to stem the tide of overdose deaths for the first time in half a decade, when she was first elected.”
